Adjunct Instructor - Sociology
We are searching for an experienced Adjunct Instructor - Sociology at our Main Campus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Positions Available: Sociology Adjunct Instructors
SOWELA Technical Community College invites enthusiastic, self-motivated professionals to apply for the adjunct position of Sociology Instructor at the Lake Charles, Jennings, and Oakdale instructional sites. These are part-time faculty positions available beginning with the Spring 2019 semester. Successful experiences in post-secondary teaching is preferred and distance-learning experience is a plus. Applicants must meet SACSCOC credentialing standards.
Sociology Instructor – Applicant must have doctorate or master’s degree in Sociology or master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Sociology. Successful experiences in teaching hybrid and/or compressed video courses is desirable.
All positions require superior communication skills, the ability to relate to students, other faculty, and college staff, and the ability to handle a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The successful applicant will be a team player, have strong leadership skills, and possess a high-energy level and a positive attitude. The ability to assist students with college-readiness skills is desired.
